Tornado Exes,

Do not forget to share your Jubilee 2010 pictures and movies with everybody by sending them to lhsjubilee@yahoo.com. Your pictures will be posted to the Jubilee Flickr page, and your movies will be posted to the Jubilee YouTube page. Your pictures and movies will also be fed to the Jubilee website and Facebook page.

Look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!

The LHS Flickr website has a few more pictures courtesy of the Class of 1959. Please visit our Flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lhsjubilee/).

If you have pictures that you would like to archive, post, and share with the LHS Community, please send them to Michael Barboza (mbarboza_99@yahoo.com).

See you in July!!!

Thank you to everyone for your generous donations, and thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time by being a class representative or by joining the social media committee.

Dear Fellow LHS Graduates,

We need help to make Jubilee 2010 the most attended event as possible! We are looking for interested and energized volunteers to take the reins on some of the Social Media accounts for Golden Tornado Jubilee. I need volunteers to manage or co-manage the following media: Twitter, Facebook activity, LinkedIn, Youtube, Flickr.

I need volunteers from different classes! The more classes we have, the more people we can reach with little notice and little cost regarding Jubilee details, registration, donations, etc. I have created and will be managing this WordPress blog which serves as the Jubilee website and central communication method for the 2010 event. LHS alumni can find links to all the different media accounts from this site.

Below is my vision for the different social media accounts, but by no means does this limit any volunteer committees on how best to manage their platform. I am good at overall vision and strategy, but I have learned that superb execution requires an outstanding and motivated management team!

Twitter – get the word out regarding all the latest event details via Tweets. I need at least one additional volunteer for this. Alexis Acosta, Class of XX, has already agreed to run with this – so, any additional volunteers who have interest in this will work directly with her!

Facebook – there is a FB Group titled “I’m attending Lamesa High School’s Jubilee 2010.” Shelley and I are currently admins for the group, but we need additional volunteers willing to constantly monitor the Facebook group page and respond to questions or concerns posted by LHS alumni. No worries – we can provide you with a list of FAQ’s and logistics – and, of course, we are always available to answer more specific questions that might arise! We just need help keeping up with all of it!

Flickr – I swear by Flickr!! Just like many of our target attendees, being 1,500+ miles from Lamesa, I miss out on all the local events! My vision is that we use Flickr to bring everyone back home and create buzz to attend Jubilee 2010! We need volunteers from Lamesa that will use Flickr to share pictures from events in town, and to coordinate with the different Jubilee class representatives prior to July, so that they can obtain digital copies of pictures from different Jubilee activities. Tags and photo sets will make it easy for LHS alumni to find pictures after Jubilee, and easier to order copies of photos.

LinkedIn – a great tool for networking in the professional world. It also serves as a great platform for discussions. My vision is that the LinkedIn volunteers encourage Lamesa-related discussions to engage LHS alumni in what’s going on in town and with fellow alumni. Interest in Lamesa and LHS will increase interest in attending Jubilee. Long-term, LinkedIn will serve LHS graduates as a way to do professional networking and remind everyone of the great times that we had growing up in Lamesa – all those lost friendships and memories!

Youtube- a great way to share clips of current events at LHS (basketball games, half-time performances, theatre, ensembles, etc.) and in Lamesa (parades, etc.). After or before Jubilee, wouldn’t it be great to see people share photo movies… I like to do this using photos and a favorite song – and all my friends and family love to see them! It shares what’s currently going on in my life. We need volunteers who can record local events and market them via Youtube and work closely with the Twitter & Facebook committees to post and market these clips!

Graphic Design! We need HELP! We need volunteers who are very in touch with their creative side and have the amazing skill to design graphics for marketing of Jubilee 2010!!!

If you are interested in helping us with the above ideas – or if you have some additional creative ideas how we can get the word out and make Jubilee 2010 the most attended event in history — please send me a message via Facebook or using the “Contact Us” page on this website. Thank you.

See you in July!
